Our Board
Lori Davison

Lori Davison (President)

Lori Davison, M.A., is currently serving her last year as President of PFLAG Hartford. A former World Language teacher for over 15 years, and a former high school GSA advisor, she has dedicated the last few years to support, education, and advocacy for families, LGBTQ people, educators, and the community. Lori has inspired, informed, and empowered many through training sessions, conferences, and workshops around the region. Outside of LGBTQ work, Lori enjoys hiking, skiing, kayaking, going "home" to San Francisco, and spending time with her husband, daughters, and friends.

Edith Barrett (Diversity Chair)

Edith Barrett is the mother of a teenage transgender son. In both her personal and professional life, she is dedicated to improving life for all people, especially youth living in urban areas. She currently serves as the Director of Urban and Community Studies and Professor of Public Policy at the University of Connecticut. Amanda Klatt

Amanda Klatt (Resource Coordinator)

Amanda started coming to PFLAG in 2012. At that time she was quiet, in need of education and support. It seems to have been a good fit as she is now giving back to the organization. For the past year, she can be seen welcoming others to the meetings and facilitating various groups. She can also be seen behind the table at events for PFLAG and holding the banner proudly at rallies. While working for the State of CT and helping support PFLAG, she also finds time to help raise her two teenage sons. Other times, you may also catch her searching for antiquities, playing cards with her friends, or quietly making her own jewelry.

Nancy Lichtenberg (Speakers Chairperson)

Nancy Lichtenberg, LCSW, is a family counseling clinician at Jewish Family Services. She provides counseling services to individuals, couples, and groups, and she has a special niche providing co-parenting counseling for high-conflict parents. Nancy also teaches the court-order mandated class for divorcing parents. In addition to divorcing and separating parents, Nancy has professional experience working with a range of client populations, including substance users, criminal offenders, families dealing with a variety of issues, and members of the LGBT community.

Nancy has served on the Cultural Wellness Committee at JFS for the past thirteen years, bringing in speakers to offer critical new insights about a variety of human issues. Nancy is the parent of a college-age child identifying as non-binary or "gender queer." In her spare time, Nancy enjoys photography, yoga, hiking, reading, art films, and playing with her 8-year-old puppy Ruben. She is very excited to join the PFLAG community!

Tracy Martinez is the mother of two who has worked for the Dept. of Defense for the past 31 years. Currently she is an Administrative Contracting Officer with the Defense Contract Management Agency of Hartford. She served as Cub Master for Pack 161 in East Hartford, delivered meals for Meals on Wheels and is currently involved with the PTO for Kinsella High School for Performing Arts. Tracy joined PFLAG Hartford in February 2014. She attends both the Hartford and Manchester PFLAG meetings and enjoys meeting people involved in the LGBTQ community. Tracy ahs also assisted in manning the PFLAG table at True Colors conference for the past 2 years. In her spare time Tracy enjoys reading, attending theatre performances (especially when her daughter has helped design the costumes!) and going to the beach.

Karen Meszaros

Karen Meszaros (Funding Chair)

Karen Meszaros is a project engineer in the aerospace industry and a mother to two young children. She is out as a lesbian since 2015 and is excited to give back after PFLAG provided such an amazing support system during the coming out process. With a strong interest in social issues, Karen is heavily involved with the Middletown, CT Complete Streets Committee, aimed at making the community more biker and pedestrian friendly and an active member of her company's Pride Employee Resource Group. She is hoping to go back to school for social work in the near future and has a long-term goal of starting a non-profit providing ally support to people of color. Karen's interests include hiking, cooking, fitness, and reading.

Mark Pixley (Treasurer)

Mark C. Pixley is an Assistant Vice President and Actuary at MassMutual Financial Group, one of DiversityInc's Top 10 Companies for LGBT Employees. Mark is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Kent State University and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Akron.

Mark lives in West Hartford with his wife and two teen-aged children who are quickly making their way into the world. While it's exciting to see this world becoming a better place for all of us to be our authentic selves, there's still a long road ahead and Mark is proud to be a part of PFLAG's mission to make that road wider and safer through outreach, education, and by bringing people at all stages of their journey together to help and support each other.
